Grounds Clippings: Spurs Get What They Deserve by groundsman

-The last time Spurs won a trophy, Apple had just released the PowerMac, Wayne Gretzky retired from the NHL, and Spongebob Squarepants debuted on Nickelodeon.   On Sunday, those Lillywhites reclaimed the League Cup for the first time in 9 years, and manager Juande Ramos says his team “deserved to win the title”.  We hate the phrase “deserved to win”…

especially in top flight English football, where everyone usually feels they deserve to win, but this time, we agree with The Special Juande (thanks Fiver).

-Our eyes usually just slide over the ESPN Soccernet site as the flashing lights and wild graphics are a bit much to take.  So the “Beckham Watch” alert on the sidebar came as something of a shock.  Are you serious?

-A specialist says Eduardo could have lost his foot after his injury during Saturday’s Birmingham City match, whilst hard tackling Martin Taylor visits Eduardo at the hospital to offer his apologies.  He’ll have plenty of time to ask for forgiveness, as the latest prognosis has the 25 year old striker out for 9 months.

-I’d like to make this blog grow, whilst weeding out all of the nonsense.  Have any suggestions for stories, content, or improving The Shed’s looks? We’re not overly sensitive, so feel free to leave a comment or send an email.
